The college has one unit of NSS, one unit of Rover- Rangers and various programs are conducted throughout the years.

 


National Service Scheme

The College has one unit of NSS volunteers. NSS has an important role in motivating the youth toward social and national issues. They participate in the awareness campaign, Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, cleanliness drives and various educational programs conducted in the college as well as in the locality.

Every year a seven-day camp is been held in the target village. The volunteers motivate and inspire the villagers on issues like health and hygiene, education, girl education, cleanliness, recycling and reusing waste materials etc.

Rovers and Rangers

As per the guidelines of Bharat Scout and Guide, Government Degree College, Thatyur has a sanctioned unit of twelve Rovers and twelve Rangers. According to the scouting calendar, various activities have been conducted in the college. In the session, 2017-18 one-day training program on disaster management, first aid, and cleanliness was conducted in the college.

The scout division also organized a three-day NIPUN camp to train the registered rovers and rangers. A six-member team of rover and ranger was also selected for the rover ranger national moot in Karnataka. The team not only represented Uttarakhand in the National event but also got the first prize in the pioneering/ model making the competition.
